3.30pm roll call. roundabout blackwood. many non starts due to the holiday but enough to set the pace rolling. the doctour, special k, van dootch, skipper tiralling nes piste bars and a late call from sydney on his way up the old belair. 3.50 roll through the parade coromandel main road to top of chandlers cherry gardens brought the pack back together and onto the ironbank still climbing, special k pacing effectively. syd breaking the mantle of random attacks, skipper falling for the bait. dootch ruminating about his road less travelled. then the morgan gravitron and sydney hauling in 70 plus and a lazy doc busts his addiction to speed cold turkey and respectful! the loftia haul to the longest wood and the call from nellie —the saint and her breaking down the world issues and we were running late by half an hour. aldgate chilling the still autumn skies connection. at the pump and off to the prettiest road in the hills downward and cruise with new velos nellie and the saint mixing up the pleasure. mylor quaint and crowds cheering. river road amble the dropping sun lengthening valley shadows. road runouts picnickers and greening hills. the freeway underpass sweep left onto hahndorf main road and roundabout to ninjas booking. meet at the inn the support team of jill and sue. quick change. seated long table. the moby. the italian job. zorba the sheep. kamahl. and do the funky chicken. coffee. stickies. bon voyage ninja. look forward to images of the golden fleece from its ancestral home.
