Coast to Coast

After scoring a free last minute ticket to Coast to Coast Kidd arrived at the bay with fond memories of the last time this glorious 120km route was tackled. This time there was no golden train - just a mate from work. The start was fast and steady - the lead police car was kept in sight up Cross Rd and Kidd hit the Eagle fast. The climbing pace didn't step backwards and the pack quickly thinned. As his only team mate disappeared on the climb, Kidd was left isolated. Rolling solo through the crisp hills air to Mylor was glorious and Kidd picked up a new 'friend' just after Mylor and the breakaway was formed. Kidd and 'Neil' picked up groups here and there thoughout the day and often rode solo in between.

Kidd did his best to wear the fleece proudly (see photo) and hopefully drew the attention of other more numerous teams on the day.

Garmin is dead, so no map to share, but ride time was 3.54 for 120km, average speed 31km/h.

The last big ride for my beloved Wilier ... hope I did her proud.

Kidd

PS. There was another on the day ... incognito ...
