snapper round 2

as the unnooficial observer has slated, it was picture perfect morning. mid twenties. light offshore, glassy conditions. we rolled from austin to the beach signed in, and even warmed up. with a couple of strange passengers thanks Karen TATE show. glover, skip, rowdy, curly, and mrCOGlins syd pacing up and down the foreshore. the docteur unloading the soingier[s], iveco well equppied, the return of the inspiration dutch master—tight lines. gradual changes in pace, slowest at the front on the climbs. you know solid advice when you hear it. the instructions issued, team s were 4th out on the road under cycling SA—we weren't going to win the most komplete team this week, with rowdy's and skips lack of grooming more hair on the face than the legs—we were told take it to the high road, as you know, you guys been here before. Thanks max. sans the kidd and junior we were the magnifcent se7en. 5,4,3,2,1 tripp the beams. form up. skipper howling. the boys were on it and tight soon. the flat trak. ride like the wind. rotations 30sec up the front then drop. let the team work for you and it did, quickly and smoothly. ref pre-race plan take note of the swinging breeze off shore now turning onshore. dip and climb we were punching 40plus's on the roll out to silver sands. the hotdogs. cruched cogs downshift. all around. reform and roll. the willing and the now present headwind. the legs taxing, the team work closed up foreshore climbs and more confident from round 1, the second hotdog had glover heading off down to the beach but his power busted back no issues. keep the shape, keep the rythmn and keep up the communicado. our team support vehicle pulled off on lap one. we where punching above our weight and keeping tight. the work begins. the recce run under pour belt, now down to finetune this route. with the engine room firing rowdy, mrCOGlins, glover and doc punching out the rythmn and syd, curly and skip earning their road. the second lap cheers from IVECO special k and sidelines, geert now planning tatical response and lizze and scruffy et al barking out encouragement road side tour style. the pace line ploughed on, rotation less frequent as the legs were found and recoverd where needed. the third hotdog perfect skip lead in, howling cogs crunching, lines chosen and close and pulled out to let rowdy and the massive engine room avec bigrig, glover and doc motor us back into the wind for the last time. the right hander negotiated at pace and tight, onto the foreshore. fat boys possibly 1 k an hour up on us and does that show, just there, but we cant close them down. the last hotdog tight the pedal down for the home 3 ks. the momento amped up a notch or two and the packed lead out skipped busted up at 200 to go, rowdy mows down the meters and tows the lads over at close to 50kph. the rush. the eleation. the moment tapped out at 57min 20sec [35.1 kph ave] the sea breeze came back quickly on the team rundown c'est manifuque—does it get better than that? and we gathered ourselves back to our support group and k9's, to watch the teams and then cibo power home on their machinery equal to the GDP of some developing nations— note sans coffee machine. expect to see a cibo stall next round. smokkelaars on economy grade machines must win the bang for the buck hands down and rowdy surely is even handier on a respectably budgeted bike. nb lets not encourage him to upgrade. great ride guys everyone digging deep and followed the plan. 10th out of 14team 20 sec short of snowys. flat track bullies we are not, but team work we were on it today and tighter. Looking forward to the next west lakes round jan 17 and hope to see you with even more supporters—sure lizzie, special k and van dooth can vouch for a great morning of supporting and to be honest it really lifted the team effort. super ride for round 2. thanks to the great CSA event organisers.
